This year we headed north on Hiway 395 to      Independence--and then west up the mountain.
I think that this hike took us higher that we've been before.
              
As you can see from some of the photos--we were above the tree-line.  NO bears this year---
but at least we had our "BEAR CONTAINERS"  :-)
